OT: My ride to Oshkosh

Post by pdb »

I departed Aurora Oregon with some friends in N18121 together with another beautiful DC3. After a bit of a late departure due to some leaky oil and hydraulic lines, we decided on lunch at Spokane. Life at the airport and vicinity came to a halt as everyone came out to see these two birds. It could have been 1940 but it was July 2010.

As pilots got more comfortable, the formation tightened during the final run from Rock City, IL to OSH. At one point, I could see a dozen DC-3 out the window on the left side.

I was on the ground when all of you guys flew over at Oshkosh, I'm sure it looked good from the air, but man, what a sight on the ground!
