Our runway goes right down the middle of this hay field. This time of year, after we get the last cutting done, baled and put away we let "Mother Nature" take over and keep it trimmed until Jack Frost comes. The cows gives us a head start on next years fertilization
This is looking south out our dinning room window. If you look close you can see the windsock on the other end next to Bruce's oil........

WHATCHA MEEN HAMBOOGERS - - I WANT A 1# BLACK ANGUS PRIME RIB!
Many years ago they ran a few head at the Gaston's place. A very senior C170 member was flying in the right seat of my 170 as we came side slipping over the power lines on the west end. "Whatcha gonna do about them cows Boy"? I shot back "Pick out the best one for some fresh beef!" I had been there a few times before and the bovines usually meandered to the side and they did that again that time. The old timer gave me a piece of advice though and it was probably good - - "Don't ever trust a damn cow - - they ain't like any other animal when it comes to stoopid."
OLE GAR SEZ - 4 Boats, 4 Planes, 4 houses. I've got to quit collecting!
I landed at my friends place (mile 533 Alaska Highway) Coal River Lodge.I had phoned ahead and all was good as it had been mowed,by the bison, my wings were covered in buffalo poop. things we put the 170 through.
Tom Benedict from New Mexico has a special award for those that put tire tracks in his cow patties. I've been in there 3 times without catching one... Bob Coats wasn't so lucky. I've been told that of all the awards that '26D has won, this is one Carol won't allow to be displayed in the house...
