Moving back home

Post by rupertjl »

After a long, hard, methodical, calcualted decision (my wife said so), we've decided to move back home to central PA. It helped that I was able to get a job at Lycoming Engines in Williamsport, PA that will help fund the move. I start up there in January. I was wondeirng if anyone was interested in flying to Selingsgrove (KSEG) or Wagner (1PA4) so I can get my aicraft in PA and fly back to St. Mary's (K2W6) with me in your airplane so I can get back to my vehicle. I of course would help fund your flight. Anyone looking for a 2-3 hour sight seeing tour of the Cheasepeake bay? I promise I'll keep you away from the DC ADIZ.

Congrats on the move and new job. My IA works for Lycoming as well.

When are you planning the move? Maybe we could set up a relay. That is a 4 hour no wind triangle for me and it's getting to that time of year when, A.) my plane is stuck on a wet soggy turf field till it freezes and B.)there's not much heat in it to sit in it for 4 hours.

Not my intention to volunteer them but John Hess and Bill Kelsall are slightly better aligned with the route of travel.

Bruce,

I just have to be out of the hangar by Jan 1. It might work out that I can have my buddy in west chester drive me down since he volunteered to help move anyway. I'll try to solidify some date and times, most likely weekend times.

Appreciate the offer!

Hey W. your triangle would only be a bit longer than mine and it's only money. Your cows can't be doing much right now anyway.

Well I finally got the bird to the new home at KSEG (Penns Valley Airport, Selingsgrove, PA) I know I'm lot closer to Bruce now, not sure if that's a good thing or not!
One nice thing about the trip was my buddy that followed me up with his '61 172 got some nice photos of the 170 over the Cheasapeake...I'll see what they look like and send them to Doug if they look calendar worthy...

It's good to be back home in PA, but now I'm going to have to preheat a lot more!

Penn Valley seems to be a very nice airport. VERY nice FBO. It's been a stop about half of the trips I've made each year for about the last 10, to Lock Haven for Sentimental Journey.

Your actually a lot closer to Randy Hentz AKA j3pup here at the forum. He's located at Bendigo Airport if memory serves me right and John Hess who is located at Deck.

You will have to put the two fly-ins at Grimes in Bethal PA and Sentimental Journey, Lock Haven on our calendar.

When you get to Lycoming look up Mike Damiani in tech support and tell him I said hello. He's a great guy.

And yes you will get a lot more efficient at preheating.
