Alton Bay?
Does any one in New England know the status of the ice runway at Alton Bay this year? I did a google search and found nothing for this year. Bill K

For info about Alton Bay winter festival on the 20th of Feb 2011

This is a hotline (recording) about Alton Bay (B18) runway. As of the 22 of Jan it is not open. This has been a bad year for plowing the runway there. It is usually open by now. 603 875 3798

Re: Alton Bay?
I'm (7MA2) a little over 100 miles south of Alton Bay and the ice is 8" thick. Unfortunately, there is over 8" of snow on top.
So landing with wheels, like we usually do in early Feb., is out of the question.
Skis only.
But who knows? This is New England. Things change!
