Re: CIRRUS ACQUIRED BY CHINESE COMPANY
Because the Chinese are so well known for reverse engineering/pirating, what could possibly go wrong?

Pardon my laziness in not researching this myself, but is this the same company than bought Teledyne Continental?

Cirrus was bought by China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co.(CAIGA). Teledyne Continental was bought by Technify Motor (USA) LTD. Both are subsidiarys of AVIC International Holding Corporation (China).cessna170bdriver wrote:Pardon my laziness in not researching this myself, but is this the same company than bought Teledyne Continental?

Re: CIRRUS ACQUIRED BY CHINESE COMPANY
Yes,...it's known as "The Peoples Republic of China". (It's another state-owned corporation. What puzzles me is... if Boeing is correct to sue in the Int'l court against AirBus for the French Gov't support they receive...and WIN an UNFAIR COMPETITION lawsuit... ... WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE? for any competitor of the company's being bought by Chinese corporations? )
It seems to me that every other U.S. aviation mfr'r is having to compete directly against the Chinese Government...who holds more U.S. dollars.

Superior Air Parts, Inc. Has Begun Shipping Millennium Cylinders for Lycoming and Continental Enginesmarathonrunner wrote:Superior Air Parts has also been bought by a chinese company. Better start learning a new language.
Superior Air Parts, Inc.
Coppell, TX, February 28, 2011 ¡X Representatives of Superior Air Parts, Inc., announced today that the company has begun the next phase of its product reintroduction efforts by beginning the delivery of production quantities of new Millennium„· Cylinders to its global dealer network.
¡§This is very exciting for everyone who has been involved with bringing the popular family of Millennium Cylinders back into production,¡¨ explained Timothy T. Archer, CEO, Superior Air Parts. ¡§Everywhere I¡¦ve gone, the first question everyone has asked has been when would the Millenniums be available? Well, I can very happily say they¡¦re available at your Superior dealer today.¡¨Archer stated that the first new Millennium shipments included cylinders for the popular Lycoming O-235 engines and the Teledyne Continental O-200 and IO-550 engines. The company has now added cylinders for Lycoming¡¦s O-360/IO-360 and O-540/IO-540 as well as the Continental O-470/IO-470 and IO-520/TSIO-520 engines.
¡§As you would expect, the process of gearing up production by our suppliers has taken longer than we hoped, but the major hurdles are behind us,¡¨ he said. ¡§Right now our biggest challenge is being able to plan our production so that we can keep our dealers stocked. From what they¡¦re telling me, the more customers hear that the Millennium¡¦s are available, the harder they are to keep on the shelves.¡¨
¡§It¡¦s a great problem to have but right now it¡¦s a balancing act to match the economics with the production and orders to make sure we meet all the needs,¡¨ Archer added. ¡§Our suppliers are working hard with our quality control team to get cylinders in, approved and back out to our dealers as quickly as our high standards will allow.¡¨
Archer said that with the increasing availability of cylinders and piece parts, Superior can now set its sights on restarting the production of its popular experimental XP Series„·Engines and certified Vantage„· Engines. ¡§The ability to ship engines is an announcement that I¡¦m really looking forward to making,¡¨ he said.

We good ole boys are going to have to work on Marathonrunner's feelings about C&W. Now most of this new stuff they call C&W is NOT real C&W. His mama must have dropped him on his head when he was little and he lost the C&W cells
