That airplane would have come with an O-300A originally.Johnnyoutdoors wrote:As far as I know, the C-145 was replaced with a 0-300 a few years back, there is paperwork on that, maybe they kept the the total assy together, it was done before the guy I bought it from bought it. That would be my guess.

Check out this thread concerning abrasion boots.Johnnyoutdoors wrote:There are not many grass runways here, its gravel or rocks for the most part.
I am having issues now on the tail surfaces and I'm looking for suggestions to protect the leading edges.

You will definitely want the heavier, rubber abrasion strips/boots. I don't recommend using black tape, even heavy duty tape as rocks will still ding the metal leading edges. I don't remember exactly where I purchased the ones for my 172, but they are the Cessna type that are thicker on the leading edges and taper to thinner material toward the back side or trailing edge of the boot. Someone on this forum will likely be able to guide you to one or more sources.

Cessnaparts.com/ Hill A/C shows a list price for P/N 1232040-5 abrasion boots. Tell "Ron" I sent you and you'd like our 170 Assoc'n discount. These are the cessna flat boot approx. 1/16 thick by 6" wide.
