Weather For 170 Convention

Post by 170C »

I would have sent an email to Duane, but I am sure he has his hands full with pre-convention duties. Maybe some of you San Diego area members could post some data regarding anticipated weather and tempertures for the week of our convention. I am told by many that San Diego has the best weather of any location in the 48 states. Its been a long time since we were there so just wondering if evening tempertures would call for long sleeves or wind breakers? Suggestions appreciated.

High 70's to low 80's by day, down to low 60's at night. You might want long sleeves for evening. Check here a few days before you leave. Weather Underground's long range forecasts are as good as any.

Also, if you are going to be doing anything on the water at night (like a dinner cruise or night harbor cruise) you might even want to bring a light jacket. It does actually get chilly on the water at night.

We are still dealing with a bit of the June gloom, so you will probably see IFR conditions in the morning and evening as the marine layer comes in. Usually burns off by 1100 am.

Also, note, it tends to be about 5 degrees warmer at MYF than downtown near the water.
