Cessna 170 used in a movie

I build models for a hobby and always looking for a subject that is unique. Saw a movie on TV called "The Rundown" staring the "ROCK". In the movie he is flown to a jungle landing stip in central/south America in a single engine aircraft. On a model website 'hyperscale' it was debated as to the ID of the aircraft. The general consistance is that it is a Cessna 170 (late). I was wondering if your organization could confirm if it is a 170 and who is the owner. I would like to build a model of the aircraft and add it to my "movie model" collection.

It's a 1952-53 B model, with stall fences, and a Franklin 165 motor. The registration is Brazilian, PT-PKR. Needless to say this is one of my favorite movies.........but then again there are so many

Thanks for the info. It has been a headache trying to find a clear pic of the plane's profile. If anyone can link or post it that would be great. While on the subject, how accurate is the Guillow's 170 kit to uses as a guide?

I have a unbuilt Guillow's kit as many of us probably do. I'll look at it tonight to refresh my memory and give you my opinion. Tonight I can also provide you with 3 view outlines of the 170B which is the model used in the movie. If you don't hear from me here later remind me with a PM.

The Guillow's kit seem pretty close from what I can see of the pictures of the actual model on the back of the box. Mine is unopened and I didn't want to open it and look at the plans. I guess it depends on how close to scaly you want to get. For example the elevator of the Guillow's does not have the counter balance area, an easy feature to add. Of course you want to add a strut on each side and I couldn't tell if the model had excessive dihederal but suspect it does as I think it is a rudder and elevator control with no ailerons. I'd have to have ailerons I think.
