What prop are you running with the aerocets? I have a 76" Hartzell, which is the only prop approved for the Avcon conversion.
To answer someone else's question: the list price for a pair of Aerocet 2200 and 170 rigging is $27,500. I got that straight from them about 2 weeks ago.
If anyone has the winning lottery numbers, please send them in a private message. Thanks.

Still fine tuning things. It will have rudder centering springs on the outside of the fuselage as well as a ventral. These 170's are slippery rascals on floats. Actually I did a skid test on one with Edos and it failed miserably. They should have had at least a ventral. Where is the test pilot that did that one? Going forward and hope to get this done this summer.

Re: Aerocet 2200 floats
All that is left is the flight test. We were ready to go late October and, of all things, the lake froze up. The plane has been repositioned to Kodiak. The fall winds kept it from happening. Hopefully the flight test will be done before spring. I will try to figure out how to post a picture on here so you can see it on floats. It took rudder centering springs as well as a dorsal fin to make it pass all the tests as far as I tested. Now the FAA test pilot has to fly it and verify the charactistics of flight and water handling at different weights and forward and aft c.g. positions.
Finlets...I asked the engineer about those and ummm well it would be engineering for the tail as well. Amazingly enough I went up with a 170 equipped with EDOs and it would not pass the sky brodie test that the Aerocets have to pass. Another pilot who I told the test about told me that he tried it light in a Beaver with the fins and it barely passed and with an aft load he said it did not pass. Different mods added to aircraft after they are STCd sometimes change the handling charactistics which is why you are supposed to determine if the new modification is compatible with others...example...STOL kit then putting on vortex generators...no flight testing done so who is to know how things have changed.
Anyway back to the floats, I will let you know of the progress as soon as there is some.

Flight testing in progress now. I will keep you updated as it progresses. Had to let the ice go away first

Re: Aerocet 2200 floats
Passed all the flight tests...10.5 hours worth and three different days. There is some paperwork to complete and the STC will be a done deal.
Been over three years of trying to get this done and it feels great to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Just hope it isn't the light of an oncoming train.

Re: Aerocet 2200 floats
I will try to get some pictures to post soon. I am out of state and will have to have my wife send them to me or upload them.
I think one picture needs to be the plane floating in the middle of the lake and have two people standing on the sterns. Maybe my wife who is float rated and my daughter who is going to be once this thing is out of experimental category.
Anyway the caption can read "Don't try this on Edos"
Unless of course you are wearing chest waders and a pfd (personal floatation device)
Cheers

Re: Aerocet 2200 floats
I will have to get with Matt at Aerocet to see how long to get up and running with all the parts. Just fine tuning the ICA and AFMS for the FAA now. I will keep everyone up to speed.

Sent Matt an email. I think pretty fast with the exception of flying wires which only one company makes and have to be ordered. It just depends on how long wait times are.
