Re: 91UL
There are a few places up along the North Coast of California that seem to have mogas without the ethanol found in all the rest of the mogas available in California. I suspect that this may be for the forest industries use in chain saws. I have been unable to find any other sources for this fuel.
I do not believe that this fuel sans ethanol is being in general use in vehicles.

Re: 91UL (MoGas...not AvGas)
I got the impression that the stuff being sold in Santa Rosa is the 91UL (91 Octane UnLeaded) spec supposedly being widely used in Europe, and is essentially 100LL without the lead. It supposedly is an "aviation grade" fuel, but isn't being used widely in the US due to the fact that the vast majority of airports only have infrastructure for one grade of gasoline.

I think this is the fuel sold by "Clear Gas" ( http://www.cleargas.co/index.cfm/products/aviation/ ) which just auto gas with no ethanol. The fuel in Europe is 100LL avgas without the lead bringing it down to 91 octane.

Re: 91UL (MoGas...not AvGas)
I thought it might be 91UL because the article says Sonoma Jet center says they are the only ones selling it California. I would have thought there might be others selling actual ethanol-free mogas in the state?lowNslow wrote:I think this is the fuel sold by "Clear Gas" ( http://www.cleargas.co/index.cfm/products/aviation/ ) which just auto gas with no ethanol. Miles,
I have asked around and no one seems to know anything about this "Clear Gas" set up. They are apparently headquartered in the Merced, CA, area, only a few miles south of here. I have left a phone message asking for a return call to advise where this fuel is available.

They will also set you up with a 390 gallon fuel tank trailer.

About noon today I had a callback from the "Clear Gas" company. They do NOT have ANY dealers in California at this time.
It appears to me to be somebodys wish. They are headquartered in Merced, C A, and do not have a dealer even there, so forget about buying any "Clear Gas" anywhere.
