Go-Pro film of the 170 at the cottage

Post by Poncho73 »

I put the go-pro in the 170 back in July and did some flying around at the cottage. I finally got around to posting it. It worked OK but the prop strobe effect drives you bonkers after awhile. Have a look...

My GoPro shows up tomorrow.

I'm going to work out an inspection cover camera mount system... I might even try to get it approved

Try mounting the cam externally. Ram makes some pretty solid mounts.
Yep I will mount externally next time, I just stuck to the side window (inside) for fun. I was surprised how well it worked.

My nephew attached one to the wing tip of my C-180 with one of the wing tip attach screws, I believe a #6 or maybe #8 machine threads. Nothing more required. It worked great and at the wing tip, no weird prop interference.

There seems to be a lot of the Vespa scooterists that favor the GoPro videos too. The results are usually about like the old home movies of fifty years ago were.

you need to quit those negative-G manuevers lest your airplane keep that hunch-back look permanently.

I don't think I'd trust the sticky mount at 120mph.
It's not like I can slam on the brakes, go back and pick it up 8O
