Some flying pics from this Saturday
Went out to a few strips on Saturday with Rob (yellow 170) and a friend in a Rans s-7s. The first strip was a guy's 1000ft grass front lawn. He also has a 180. The second strip is 1600ft uphill cut into a mountain above Napa Valley.

I too was flying this last weekend. The frozen lakes here in central Minnesota have only 1 inch of snow on them. This means that there is 10,000 runways to choose from.
Just watch out for the drilled fishing holes !

I think it's been photoshopped. (To make it appear there's a reason for green being so slow.)Aryana wrote:The utilitarian look with those big tires completely changes the 170...I like it!

Great photos, Buzz and Rob!
Wish I'd made the trip over the Sierras to join you, now.
I took Kathy for a birthday flight and visit with friends in Auburn instead. A beautiful day for flyin'!

Specially like the N# graphics though they are a bit to bit for my taste. Guess the change in primer color was to blend in a bit more. Kind of a mix of Woodland/Desert/Urban design with such big patterns the machine looks like a Cessna 170 in almost every environment, but we're not really sure. One thing is obvious the heavy use of green was intended to foul the tracker into thinking the speed was faster than actual.
I wouldn't change a thing accept maybe reducing the registration number to the minimum 2" size and maybe using a contrasting green on green color.
