Maybe they're not after perfection or even care if the pilot comes home...Sound familiar? Why would you need state of the art anything? Even if this ride did have an engine, I can't see the aerodynamics working well enough to get lift, let alone to be a threat to anyone other than the ground crew that launched it...

Last night at work we had a number of fellow engineers blow these aircraft photos up on a big screen and in the end we were on the floor laughing. It's a good joke. A house brick has a better chance of flying . The question is why in the world would some one do some thing as silly as this ,when the world would closely scrutinize some thing of this nature.
Anyway we can now all feel safe.

It's actually kind of curious. They have produced a couple of capable planes (google the HESA Azarakhsh) and they're not backwards in many engineering departments ( I studied with many Iranians in Germany). So what they are doing with this is either pacifying the goofball president eager to see a new weapon before his term ends or they're producing a ruse to throw the West off the scent of a formidable fighter in development. Enter the conspiracy theorists....
I agree with Aryana - an embarrassing attempt at a homebuilt, let alone a key player in national defense, and they shouldn't have published any photos until they did a little Photoshop-ing, at least. Weird.

Looks like a photoshoped mock-up, designed to mislead for propaganda purposes.
If they didn't make the girls wear burkas....It'd make a good parade-float.

I wonder if this megalomaniac's claim here is anymore ceditable than the stealth fighter scam? If this is true Isreal is showing amazingly uncharacteristic calm.
