Arash you really must have thrown BL off his game as he tried to decide how he was going to let you win and not realize he threw the wrestling match.

So nice to put a face to the BL name. Glad to hear your buying that engine. Hope you got it for a good price cause your saving Dick the time to strip it and sell piece meal.

You didn't let him buy any of that ethanol laced MOGAS for your plane did you.

You the Man, John! How did you guess about the shirt? Actually, I found it when I was dumpster diving on the Nez Perce reservation up in Idaho.
If you happen to note the cane I'm holding, don't get ideas. I only need it when I'm standing up or moving.

I want to see a picture of the Vespa.

By the way I thought that was a Indian walking stick from the same place you got the shirt.

Not at all bad for a wild guess! Age 65 is right, and I've been holding it for 26 years now.

Better watch out for those old guys with the walking sticks. My dad is of the same era as BlueLdr. 87 yo WW11 pilot. He has learned to use his stick for all sorts of things. Inflicting Pain & walking are only two things he uses it for. Good to see the smiling faces of a couple of the forum members.

Thanks Arash !
Great to put a face to the Blueldr mystique.
I hope his great barbed posts continue even though we now know where to find him and what he looks like.
Seriously when you go to pickup the engine see if you can get a picture of the famous Vespa.

There seems to be some prurient interest in my Vespa motor scooter from certain members. Please be advised that my "Solo" Vespa has been "Hors de combat" for about three or four weeks now. One of my flying buddies has been doing some maintenence and modification on it and it is taking him a lot longer than I had planned. He is also installing an Italian Stebel Nautilus Air Horn, purported to produce 139db. of sound, for the purpose of hastening old ladies in the pedestrian cross walks.
My other Vespa, an exact twin, is still in the throes of the installation of a sidecar. I am having to have a machine shop make me some parts for a steering damper installation inasmuch as I have found the scooter unrideable due to an extremely severe shimmy without a damper system. I have been anxious to get the sidecar up and going since I have twice gone on my ass on the solo bike and am unable to pick it back up by myself. The damn thing weighs over three hundred pounds and thats just too much for me at my age. It's kind of embarrassing when traffic gets stopped and backed up because an old fart is laying in the street along side of his dead motor scooter. Thank god for young guys who stop and help.
If and when I get my Italian Stallions back in service, I'll try to post a picture of them, if I live that long.

BL would like us to think the side car is to extend the safety of one of his Vespa's but I think it is so he can continue to
travel with some of the younger members of the fairer sex. :)

I also believe the sidecar is for some covert operation. Great to see who you are with all that experience.

Aryana has a really nice looking '55 model. I was discussing the cableing for steering the tailwheel on the '55 model as appearing to be an improvement over the earlier models because of the apparent better mechanical vectors, However, since I once had a '55model, I am convinced that taxying a C-170 of any model is by far best controlled by the judicious use of differential braking. I've never found one that could be completely controlled by the use of the steering system alone. Of course, I haven't tried them all yet.
