Ferry Pilot Needed

Post by 170C »

Due to some medical issues I am currently unable to fly my plane at this time. We are planning to relocate from Granbury, TX (GDJ) to Murfreesboro, TN (MBT). I now have a hangar rented at MBT. I am looking for someone with tailwheel experience to fly my '56 C-172 TD to its new home/hangar. There might be some airline employee out there or someone else that might consider ferrying my plane to TN. If anyone has an interest in doing so send me a reply or call me 817-475-6096 to discuss. I would like to do this by the end of October or earlier.

Be careful, Richard. Pack a suitcase of clothes and take along some hotel money. Remember, that thing is GREEN!

Four minutes for Richard to respond. He knows how special a ride in a GREEN plane can be.

Richard
Unless you catch a terrible headwind this will go faster than the last green plane you ferried and you will have room for a suitcase! Paul

Paul-
That is so true, the Taylorcraft L-2 hit 90mph a time or two but was mostly down around 85mph. That was a long trip from Milwaukee to Brady, TX, stopping every 150 miles for gas. At least a cool front had moved thru for most of the trip and it was cool for July. Thanks again to you and Deb for picking me up (at the totally deserted and locked-up Jacksboro Airport), taking me to dinner, putting me up for the night, feeding me Deb's special biscuits for breakfast, and taking me back to the airport. It was a real pleasure.

Frank's plane can take a passenger or two plus bags and make it halfway non-stop for a lunch stop at Pine Bluff so I can get some good soul food at the terminal cafe. Now, if it only used 4-1/2gal/hr......

Frank,

I'm over in Arlington and available to do it on the weekends (Sunday-Monday). Looks like an easy flight and easy drive back as well. I will call you tomorrow. Jughead, 850-723-2072

I've heard of being "Green with envy".. ....but I think the "red of embarrassment" .... ...might help one get over it.

Frank, do you plan to ride along? Great opportunity for a 61.56

George, I don't plan, at this time, to ride along :( Logistics won't likely work out---I'd like to do so. WHAT is the 61.56 :?

Well.......... I can't argue with that, but, I don't want to pass up an opportunity for lunch at Pine Bluff.
