The popularity of the 170 News

Post by ghostflyer »

well my copy of the third quarter of the The 170 News turned up today with no cover or plastic bag ,just mag with my address on the back BUT it was coated in coffee stains and a some bits stuck to it from a coffee roll. It look much worse for wear so a heap of interested folks must have read it from the mail room. But when my daughter suggested that some could have taken it to the toilet to read ... Yuk!!. OMG. Is any thing sacred??

Contact your local postmaster and make the complaint...take the mag to him for his personal inspection is even better.

I seriously doubt the local postmaster will be at all interested. He and his mnions dump a fist full of garbage mail in my mail slot about three times a week.

Then, they are doing their jobs. Someone mailed that junk to you and they delivered it. Those SENDERS paid the postage...expecting delivery as promised.

The postmaster will likely take action if the mail is being mistreated.

Just curious - is ghostflyer still in queensland ,Australia?
That is a lot of post masters away and the magazine could pass through a lot of mechanical postal plastic eating machines. :)

Yes still in the same place but would like to move to the USA . I have complained to the postal people and the answer was ,it was the senders fault for not putting it in a more secure package . This is not the first time this situation has happened to me ,I used to receive a power boat mag and I never received them all of them each month . I cancelled the subscription in the end .

So, how many of your 170 News have shown up in that state. How many have made it there intact?

I have to admit I don't know if the magazines are poly bagged for mailing but perhaps we should look into that if it isn't already being done.

Bruce

Mine has always made it through in good shape. Of course the locals in Del Rio, Tx didn't read much English.

Mine always arrive in excellent condition. Perhaps it's just the WEST coast, where they depart for down-under?

I think i have been a official club member for about 9 months, this is the first I have recieved by it self. the Question is how are they packaged??? Maybe we should have printed across the cover" Reader please do NOT take to toilet". I would feel better that way and not having to wear gloves to read it.

Mine arrived dry, but looked like it had been immersed, not just wet. The pages were all wrinkled and stuck together.

We are going to have to look into poly bagging at least for International members.
