Hey, Gar'.... That's a great way to avoid a broken tooth from lead shot. How do those doves taste after they've been electrocuted?

Willie,
The City Fathers of Toledo Bend, Louisiana want to help out and are sending their Ice Breaker to Minnesota. At his current speed he should be there in time for New Years Eve.

According to a piece of weather trivia I just saw, you northerners don't have a monopoly on the snow: Today, there is snow on the ground in 49 states. 8O

Miles,
Your note made me wonder which state was without snow and that drove me to http://www.examiner.com/natural-disaste ... ered-white. The answer surprised me as I thought uaually Hawaii had snow on Mauna Kea.

It didn't look like we were going to get any snow here in the Sacramento valley this morning when I went out to pick some bananas for breakfast.

I, too, was surprised that Hawaii didn't have a bit of snow on the old volcano. There was a bit way back when I was there. I don't know what date the information was posted, but Dallas, TX didn't have 12.5 inches of snow. 2 1/2 inches in some areas with up to 7 inches northeast of Dallas. We have had some snow and cold temps. Now its time for warm weather :D

That article is from last February. The item I saw yesterday (CNN, I think) said Florida was the only state without snow.

But probably so darned foggy you couldn't see the Sierras, eh? A friend of mine who grew up in Sacramento said his dad used to take the family up into the foothils at least once a month in the wintertime just to get out from under the Tule Fog and see the sun. 8O

Yeah, I missed it the first time too. If I hadn't already known that Florida was the only one without snow, and that I hadn't heard about 12+" in Texas, I wouldn't have thought to check either.

All

Anybody out there want to test your personal fortitude should make the trip to Minnesota and stay for the next 7-10 days. It is that typical time of year where we see our lows for the year and I don't think we will be disappointed. At 7:30pm we are already a -8 headed to -20. We will see that and maybe a bit more in the next week. Hope the wind doesn't get to bad as we have had in 40" range of snow so far also.

Hot Totties for anyone stopping by :D
