Primary instructor in Pullman/Moscow area

Post by akclimber »

We are moving to Pullman/Moscow area this August and my wife expressed interest in learning to fly.
Does anyone know of a primary instructor who would be willing to teach her to fly in our 1952 Cessna 170B with the Avcon Lycoming conversion and CS prop?
Also it's on 8.50x10 tires and large tailwheel.
I talked to Interstate Aviation at KPUW, and they only want to do primary instruction in their tricycles.

Also if anyone knows of a hangar for rent there that would be great!

Have you compared the relative costs of your insurance premium increases / and/or ...the ground-loop repairs of a training accident.....for primary training in your taildragger compared to the local tricycle?
Just a thought....
Now that Jamie is retired she is interested in solo-ing. I'm planning to make a run at being her instructor in a C150 or 172, and then giving her differences training. (If we don't develop an adversarial teaching relationship.)

I checked with AVEMCO - no increase in premiums for spouses.
Girlfriends cost extra, though....
