A 1955 Cessna 170-B cost almost 4.5 times as much…. about the same ratio as today…

Hemmings has a 2-dr Bel Air in restored condition listed for $95,000….multiplied by 4.5 …. is $433,865.

The base price listed for a Cessna 172 is reported to be $359,000.
