I had quite the opportunity the other day... to photograph four beautiful Cessna 170's at the Hayward Executive airport in Hayward, CA. My friend manages Bud Field Aviation, and owns a '50 A himself. I flew to Hayward in my new (to me) '50 A model, and another friend of mine, who owns a '52 B came down as well. There is a 180HP 3-blade conversion B model in the hangar as well, so we pulled it out and photographed it along with our airplanes.
Well, what a combination. Two 170 A's and two B's. In order from front to back: 1950 C170A owned by Tyler Orsow, my 1950 C170A, 1952 C170B owned by Bob Berwick, and the 180HP 170B... I don't know who owns that.
I added a slight art fresco filter in photoshop and cropped the image down a bit... thats the only editing done to the image... for the most part it's straight out of the camera.
Camera used was my Canon Eos 1D Mark II N with Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L USM Lens.
thanks! i may be organizing another C170 shoot in the spring, so anyone in northern CA let me know if you're interested... maybe we can set something up.
Great! Send some pics to Doug Mowry for the next calendar!
