B18 Alton Bay Iceport

Just thought i would send out a note about a few things with Alton Bay NH. B18.

2008 should be an exciting year on the ice with a few new things in the works for an improved runway and possibly better parking.

We may have a gps unit available to help improve the runway with better runway and taxiway markings.
We also have a new website for Alton bay ice runway *www.flyaltonbay.com*For fly-ins or general info. Also a phone number* **603-332-9098* for current conditions and notams. This phone is recorded messages only. We are currently putting together a fly-in on the ice sometime in Feb. Looks like feb 16th please check web site for info. First annual Fire and ice fly-in obviously the ice part you get, but the fire? hmmmmmmmm It will be spicy foods, ie... chilly, buffalo wings etc... stay tunned for more info on that. Pre heats will be available on the ice if needed. Also mechanics if nessasary, No one will get stuck on the ice.

Thanks to all who volunteered last year and we will be looking foward to a better year on the ice!

WOW the "How not to land on ice" video was amazing!! Only in a nose dragger could you go sideways and still recover.
