On a sad note, after arriving home from our 3-week 170 Convention trip, we awoke this morning to the news that our Tehachapi airport manager Dave Zweigle and his passenger were killed Saturday in the crash of his L-29 Delfin during a formation fly-by as part of the local 4th of July celebrations in Tehachapi. Dave was hired about a year before the 2004 170 Convention in Tehachapi and was primarily responsible for getting the airport ready for us, and always made sure to let me know the 170 Association was welcome back any time. He was a very positive force in making and keeping the airport a positive aspect of our community. Please keep his young family in your thoughts and prayers.
