Must be President Obama on his way out to Oakland to screw up our General Aviation airspace for twenty-four hours.

Some folks just really can't stand to let a "jab" at the president pass by without comment. How do you know it's not really Nancy heading home for the weekend?

We know it is not Nancy coming home for the weekend because they have only shut down a portion of the Bay Area to general aviation. If it were Nancy coming home the whole damn Bay Area would be shut down - except of course for illegal aliens and those willing to pay a toll to enter.

If Pelozi flies home in a five-ship formation, I'm really pissed.

Here's a link to Nancy demanding a larger jet than her current Gulfstream.

Here's another couple of jabs:

It's about time somebody else gets to enjoy the 30nm TFRs, Texas had them for 8 years!

Not only is Nancy costing millions $$ of tax money a year, she's doing her part to help increase the price of oil.

As far as I am concerned Nancy and a lot of the other Washingtonites can fly commercial, coach and if determined necessary they can put an air marshall on either side of her/them :x

Since I started this,... (and since many folks who are easily enraged over such matters rarely actually inform themselves properly once a rumor is convenient to their viewpoint)... I feel obligated to point out that the "link to Nancy demanding a larger jet than her current Gulfstream." .... is misleading. It is a link to a Snopes (urban legends) post which actually states most of the rumor is FALSE.

In actuality, it was the GW BUSH administration which ordered the speaker (Nancy Pelosi) to utilize the aircraft for her returns to CA, and it was the House Sargent at Arms (Bill Livinggood...is that an incredible PUN? ) ...who issued the request for a plane capable of non-stop flight,.... and the Bush White House confirmed that was an appropriate action.

Ms. Pelosi has been recorded as stating that she did not care which aircraft was used. The choice of aircraft is entirely up to the military. According to the Air Force, the larger C-32 was actually used only ONCE...when no other aircraft was available. The Speaker normally travels on an Air Force C-20 (Gulfstream.)

I personally always thought it a good idea for them to travel on the airlines like the rest of us, including having the opportunity to remove their shoes and throw away their toothpaste. They might keep a better perspective on how things really work out here.
