I agree. The instrument panel, trim along the windshield, post cover, everything looks like a 170A, although I suppose it could be an early 170B. The a/c registration in the picture is on his headset, not the plane.
If someone can enhance the picture, I bet the actual ID for the 170 is on that remote clicker hanging on the air vent which is probably for his hangar door.
