Did any of you happen to listen to "This American Life" on NPR a couple of weeks ago? Here's a link. They had a segment about a guy who was suffering from terrible allergies and then heard that having hookworms cures these allergies. So he goes to some African village, walks around barefoot for a while in the local feces, and--voila'--no more allergies. He claims hookworm also cures Crohn's disease which my wife suffers from. For some reason she's not willing to buy the parasites quite yet.
