C-170 Nickname? Why Not

I'm curious why just about all other Cessna's had names given to them, but the early birds, -120, 140, 170, & 195's don't have common names. I am sure there is somebody on the forum with a history lesson for us young guys.

I can only imagine ATC's response to me using "Businessliner 4497B" the next time I check in. Might have to try it just for fun. If I use Businessliner, can I automatically write off all my expenses too?

The RED ones are called "QuickSilver"!

Obviously the locals in BC didn't tell you about the dangers of flying such a shiny & red airplane that low over Lake O. Ogopogo could easily have mistaken you for a fine fishing lure and jumped up out of that beautiful water and swallowed you whole, adding another chapter to his legacy. I believe Canadian Aviation Regulation 907, subpart 3.2 discusses this special rule.

I tried useing the Businessliner nick name with Oakland Tower one morning. The tower controller responded saying "I don't care if you are an Oceanliner you will still have to follow the Falcon Jet on a three mile final."

In the 1970s Cessna had the twin engine 402C which came in 2 versions, the Businessliner with executive style seats and the Utililiner with 8 small seats. I'll bet they still had someone from the late 40s working there who that Businessliner was a good name.

It's been suggested that "glare" behind my left wing was Ogopogo, barely beneath the surface, making just such an attempt. However it's also been surmised that he bruised his nose on the shock-wave of my wake and may explain why he's not been sighted since! (THis story may be confirmed by Buddy McGown, who was sitting right-seat in that pic, and Solomon Bruck, (who was in the back-seat) has not looked the same since.)

What I can't figure out is what keeps that right main wheel in formation with the airplane.
