OT Obama-Horn Manhattan NY conference

Post by Bruce Fenstermacher »

George how did your meeting with Obama go today in Manhattan?

Thought you'd through is off using the operation code "Visit Ashley" to explain your suspect visit to NYC. And then your off to Gettysburg for a few days which is uncannily close to Camp David (the Presidents retreat outside of DC for those not familiar)

There of course is some back ground to this thread most might not know. As George posted in another thread he and his wife Jamie are in Manhattan today for "A Visit with Ashley" , George's daughter. So happens President Obama is also in Manhattan today to "tape an interview for THE VIEW" . Of course Obama closed down the airspace, maybe George should have for his arrival. :)

I wonder if George has the card to fly near the ADIZ. We need it to fly within 60 mi of Washington. Gettysburg got pretty close.

Yes George is a card carrying member after I clued him in on the requirement. Gettysburg is within the 60 miles and the training is required by SFAR.

CORRECTOMUNDO!

(Anyone recalling the story of how Jamie and I blasted off one morning for Frank Stephenson's fly-in at Spinks/FtWorth without checking on the Crawford P-49 area, will know why I am indebted to Bruce (again!) (It would be a bit embarrassing for a CFI/DPE to discover big, armed helicopters with you in formation.)

Seriously, anyone even remotely planning any flights in the eastern section of the country would do well to take the online courses now, before one actually expects a pop-up or a re-route to/thru the area. http://www.faasafety.gov/

George, please don't fly your 170 into the tfr. We don't want to endanger THE 170
