Question for members near Raleigh, NC

Post by KG »

There is a good chance that I might need to keep my airplane somewhere near Raleigh, NC for a few months. Probably starting this September for three to six months .... eight at the most.

Do any of you have any recommendations of a good place where I could keep my plane? I would like to keep it under a roof if at all possible and if it doesn't break the bank to do so. I fly it regularly so it needs to be accessible (the back of a shared hangar might not work well). My dream spot would have a nice grass runway and a private t-hangar but I would be happy with pavement and a shade roof if that's what I find. I may have to consider an outside tie-down if that is what is available. I will be on the West side of Raleigh, about half way between RDU and downtown, so closer to that side of town would be better.

I'm open to all suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Keith. I know of a great field near Charlotte. I know it's further than you want, but if nothing else comes up, let me know. 3850' lit, grass strip with open T hangars.

Thanks Joe. That sounds exactly like what I am looking for but Charlotte would be a bit far for me. I expect to be temporarily living in Raleigh and want to keep the plane close.

I'll keep looking and as it gets closer I will contact some NC members to see if they can offer any advice.

Thanks again,
Keith

Here is a couple you could try. Looks like around the location you asked about.
