IO360 Exhaust Problem

Friend of mine recently installed a IO360 using XP Mods of WA STC; sounds like the exhaust is off a o300 with some modifications. One muffler failed at about 25 hours, and a exhaust stack failed at 80 hours, apparently from over heating. He's wondering if others are having the same problem and or what kind of exhaust systems are being used by others??????

What exhaust system is included (or called out for) in the STC? I would think that a Cessna Hawk XP exhaust system would work,same engine and roughly the same size cowl. Or maybe a mixmaster system.

He says the exhaust he has is what is called for. Also that the Hawk XP system will not fit in the cowling. I'll ask him about the 337 exhaust.
