Back seat weight
Does anyone know what the complete back seat weighs? In researching my logs I don"t find a weight and ballance for the Alte Dodge conversion. I do have the STC and the 337 but no weight and ballance change. These seats weigh six pounds each, 12 pounds for the pair.
Thanks for any help. Scott.....53B

Re: Back seat weight
I weighed mine on a bathroom scale I keep in the hangar, and it came out at 26 lb for the bottom and back together. If you still have yours I'd suggest you get an actual weight, as differences in upholstery could make a difference.

Miles' suggestion is correct. Last time I weighed mine before I sold it, it weighed 35 #.

Re: Back seat weight
Mine weighed 38 pounds. Should be 28 or so.
EVERYTHING in the airplane had a second layer of upholstery. Industrial vinyl. Heavy. Took 40 pounds out of the airplane last spring when I reupholstered the airplane and put in the BAS jumpseats, similar to the Atlee Dodge jumpseats. Jumpseats, upholstered, weigh 13 pounds for the pair, with no complaints from the kids after 16 hours flying to OSH this summer.

It is not a rare event to buy an aircraft part and not be provided weight and balance information. Attlee seats are not provided W&B information.
As an Asside: carfully read your form 337. Weight and balance is mentioned.

Re: Back seat weight
Checked the 337, states weight and ballance and equipment list amended accordingly. Problem is that I don't have that ammendment. The reason i'm asking is that I have a foreward CG problem and am trying to rectify it. I'm running all the numbers to determine exactly what I want to do. I've ordered the STC from Del-Air to relocate the battery and need to finish the interior, Then time for an actual weigh in.
It looks like I can figure about a 16 pound decrease in rear seat weight from stock. Thanks everyone for the input.

Re: Back seat weight
Your AI has that authorization afforded him by the STC. He must determine the weight and the fuselage stations impacted. This usually requires the aircraft to be weighed after the install. The fact that each installation is different as to weight, the provider can't address it.
