Ouch! I did the exact same thing with my J3 once almost 40 years ago, but I was luckier -- I was able to reach the throttle before it went anywhere. Since then, I've always turned the fuel valve off before hand propping. I don't know a safer airplane to hand-prop than a J3, but as they say, it can still just barely kill you! 8O
