Had to show that one to Becky! We both smiled - and wanted to go flying too!
Bruce, I'm thinking that "lady bird" was the person you were alluding to. She's the one who broke the TFR in Chicago a while back. She's the classy elderly blond lady with the blue cub - correct???
Bluelder - I'm thinking you might know her as well??? Of if you don't - you should!!!

I'm just about ninety years old now, and i'm not interested in older blonde ladies unless they own a liquor store --- a big one.

Yes Kyle, that is correct. As I recall she is a wealthy widow, with an airplane. Perhaps BL should reconsider.Kyle Wolfe wrote:Bruce, I'm thinking that "lady bird" was the person you were alluding to. She's the one who broke the TFR in Chicago a while back. Listen, you guys. Throughout my life I have had a lot of fun chasimg feminine pulchritude, but age and arthritus have limited my recent activities to wishful thinking. I'm at a point where anything faster than a slow walk is just out of question, even if it a really big, big liquor store. Besides that, what kind of serious aviator would even THINK of painting a cub BLUE???
If a Cub is a basic J3 type, is has to be Cub Yellow. A super cub is acceptable in Cream and Red. All others don't count.

Maybe this will pick up your interest Dick, the latest EAA Sport Pilot Magazine has an article about this recently widowed lady flying her Chipmunk. BTW the magazine finally got in the mail to you yesterday so you can read about her and Dot Lemmon.blueldr wrote:Listen, you guys. johneeb,
Thanks. I'll be looking forward to reading about Dot Lemmon.
As for he widow lady with the "Chipmunk", those things have the engine in upside down and it turns the wrong way too.

An Arkansas woman I knew had a saying, "If it has an engine or testicles it's gonna be expensive and troublesome."blueldr wrote:johneeb,

Re: What the discerning ladies want for Christmas
Longer ago than I like to think about, a PBS affiliate did a video piece on the private aiport at which I happened to be based. One of the interviewees was a middle-aged confirmed bachelor who frequented that airport. When the host asked him why he'd never been married, he immediately replied that he'd yet to find a rich widow with a weak heart and her own airfield.Bruce Fenstermacher wrote:Kyle Wolfe wrote:As I recall she is a wealthy widow, with an airplane.
