Re: Where's your 430?
I don't have an actual picture but I installed my Garmin 155, OBS and annunciator panel in my '52 in the space of the left panel. The GPS in the top most position then above that I under the airspeed I had the OBS and the required enunciator panel. My installation was certified for IFR. I also had the 155 driving a smaller Pilot III which rested on the top of the instrument panel like a heads up display.
If I was installing a 430 I'd do the same thing as far as position goes. Not sure if you need the annunciator or left/right indicator(OBS) for IFR with the 430 but if your going to install it you might as well cet the install certified.
I may have a picture at home and I do have a drawing if that would help.

Re: Where's your 430?
My 430 was installed in the hole vacated by the previous radio - down by the left knee. However, the OBSs are stacked one on top of the other down the center of the panel. The 430 is backed up by a King. The arrangement works well enough. I am able to make all the entrys using my left hand and when necessary a slight tilt forward allows me to view the moving map clear of obstacles. In a perfect world I would prefer the 430 in the center of the panel. However, the left knee set up with the center panel OBS works well.
